"Harshest punishment against Prof. Ashu Marasinghe" - Anusha David

Colombo (News 1st) -  The recent actions of Professor Ashu Marasinghe, Former Advisor to the President, ''requires immediate punitive action by the President and his government,'' said Rescue Animals Sri Lanka's Anusha David.

"Abuse of any sort is reprehensible. Abuse of a hapless animal who has no voice is even more deplorable. The fact that this was enacted by a person of repute and one in government brings disrepute on the government and this country," she added.

She said, "Beastiality is an abhorrence and Professor Marasinghe should be meted out the harshest punishment."

Anusha David called the revelation ''a slur on the whole country'', adding that it brings shame and disgrace to all.
