Urea Fertilizer distributed for Maha Season

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Agrarian Services Department says that urea fertilizer has been distributed to the districts which have implemented the work for the Maha season.

The Commissioner General of the Agrarian Services Department A.H.M.L Abeyratne said that the stock of urea fertilizer has been sent to the districts of the Northern Province including Jaffna, and Kilinochchi.

He further added that fertilizer stocks are being sent to Ampara Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts.

Paddy farmers will be issued a 50 kg fertilizer bundle for Rs.10,000/-.

Only 33 kg of fertilizer is given per hectare in the first phase.

Meanwhile, urea fertilizer has been distributed to 5 districts that are cultivating maize

Accordingly, urea fertilizer is to be given to maize farmers in Anuradhapura, Monaragala, Ampara, Badulla, and Kurunegala districts.

The Agrarian Services Department said that a bundle of 50 kg urea fertilizer will be sold to maize farmers for Rs. 15,500/-.
