Opposition MPs request for committee to probe economic crisis

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Thirty-Five members of the Opposition directed a letter to the Speaker in the Parliament on Tuesday (20) requesting for the appointment of a special parliamentary committee to probe the country's descent into an economic crisis.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and several members representing the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, Prof. G.L. Peiris, Dullas Alahapperuma and Channa Jayasumana representing the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and the Freedom People's Assembly have also signed in this letter directed to the Speaker.

MPs Patali Champika Ranawaka and Anura Priyadarshana Yapa are also among the MPs who signed the letter.
