Milkman off to CID

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Chairman of Milco (Pvt) Ltd Renuka Perera says that he will file a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (19) over alleged fuel fraud that took place at the Ambewela Dairy Factory.

He said that the fraud has taken place in late 2019, 2020, and 2021.

He said that over 132,000L of diesel have been fraudulently sold from the Ambewela premises.

Chairman Renuka Perera said that necessary steps have been taken to suspend the officer involved in the fraud and the officer who supervised it.

Also, it was decided to transfer the officer of the relevant department for not logging the relevant information.
