US will support Sri Lanka through IMF, if agreement can be reached

COLOMBO (News 1st); US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie J. Chung said that the United State of Americal will support the island nation through the IMF, if an agreement can be reached.

She said that the United State of America will redouble efforts to support Sri Lanka through ongoing efforts like financing for SMEs, fertilizer & seeds for farmers, education exchange & training to strengthen public financial management.

She made these comments speaking to the the US-Sri Lanka Business Council in Colombo on ways US & SL businesses can collaborate to ensure Sri Lanka gets back on a path to prosperity. 

US-Sri Lanka bilateral trade already supports more than 180k workers supplying exports to the US and contribute billions to the SL economy, she said.
