Sri Lanka welcomes easing travel restrictions

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has directed a letter to the British High Commission in Colombo to further soften its travel advisory whilst welcoming the relaxation of the previous travel advisory to Sri Lanka.

The Chairman of the SLTDA, Priyantha Fernando states that he has highlighted the remarkable improvements in the ground situation with no gas shortages, whilst fuel for tourist movement has been facilitated with greater efficiency. 

"It was stressed on how SLTDA is continuously working with industry stakeholders to ensure that tourists visiting Sri Lanka would have a pleasant and an enjoyable holiday on this beautiful island" the communique mentioned. 

Accordingly, the SLTDA Chairman said that he is confident that the British High Commissioner, Sarah Hulton OBE would appraise officials of the ground realities and assist in getting the travel advisories further relaxed in the coming days.
