Kerawalapitiya bush fire contained

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) says the fire that broke out in a forest area in Kerawalapitiya has been contained. 

Assistant Director at the Gampaha District DMC, Ajith Nishantha says the fire was reported near the Muthurajawela Forest Reserve in Kerawalapitiya. 

Sri Lanka Air Force Spokesperson Group Captain Dushan Wijesinghe told News 1st that a Bell 412 helicopter was deployed to contain the fire in the Kerawalapitiya area.
