Senior Citizen beaten to death with motorcycle helmet in Kandana

COLOMBO (News 1st); A 64-year-old man was beaten to death with a motorcycle helmet in Kapuwatte, Kandara on Wednesday (24).

Sri Lanka Police said that a woman was operating a hotel in the area, and a man who entered the premises to purchase food had gotten into a verbal altercation with her when making the payment.

The man who arrived on a motorcycle had then attacked the hotel owner's father with a helmet.

Police said that the senior citizen was rendered unconscious, and was rushed to the Ragama Hospital where he was ruled dead upon admission.

The 33-year-old suspect from Ragama was arrested and the Kandana Police is conducting investigations.
