COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka is to rename the controversial Prevention of Terrorism Act.
According to Cabinet Spokesperson & Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, the Prevention of Terrorism Act which has been in existence since the 1970s will be given a new face.
He said the Justice Minister will introduce a new Act named the National Security Act will be introduced to replace the Prevention of Terrorism Act, where regulations under the PTA will be relaxed.
