Govt focuses on control price for chicken

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Government has focused on imposing a control price for chicken.

The Minister of Trade, Commerce and Food Security, Nalin Fernando stated that a final decision in this regard will be reached this week.

However, he said that if Polutry businessmen agree to reduce prices, a control price will not be necessary.

The minister also stated that the prices of several essential goods have been reduced within the last two weeks.

Accordingly, the price of dhal, potatoes, onions, chilli and several other consumables have had their bulk price reduced, the Minister said, adding that the retail price would reduce in the coming days.
