Over 175,000 litres of illegally accumulated fuel seized

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that 1,164 raids have been conducted while 1,086 suspects have been apprehended in fuel raids.
Moreover, he said that 37,296 litres of Petrol and 119,457 litres of Diesel and 19,214 litres of Kerosene have been seized in the fuel raids conducted.
The Police Spokesperson made an observation that some tend to accumulate fuel illegally to sell them at higher prices.
Raids into such incidents will continue, and the Police and STF will remain vigilant with regard to all such incidents, he added.
