Ethul Kotte resident arrested with stolen Tear Gas Ammo

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police arrested a 26-year-old man from Ethul Kotte for stealing Tear Gas ammo that was in the possession of police officers, on the 13th of July during a protest close to Parliament.

Sri Lanka Police said that on the 13th of July 2022, a group of police attached were transporting tear gas ammo in a three-wheeler belonging to the Public Peace Management Range during the protest that was taking place at the Polduwa Junction.

A statement from Sri Lanka Police said that protestors had stolen several tear gas ammo during the protest.

Investigations were carried out by the Wester Province (South) Crimes Branch and they arrested the suspect from Alakeshwara Road, in Ethul Kotte for the possession of five rounds of Tear Gas Ammo.

The suspect will be produced to the Hultsdorf Magistrate's Court on Wednesday (27).
