Elderly woman's charred remains found inside Ragama house

COLOMBO (News 1st); A woman was found dead inside a house in Ragama, with burn injuries on Tuesday (7).

Sri Lanka Police said the deceased was a 74-year-old, and that her daughter was being treated in hospital, and her husband had gone to see their daughter on Monday (6) night.

When he returned this morning, he had found the charred remains of his wife, inside the house.

The Magisterial Inquiry was carried out by the Wattala Magistrate on Tuesday (7).

The Mahabage Police is conducting an investigation to determine if the death was the result of murder.
