COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology announced that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm may occur at some places in these areas.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Uva, Eastern, and North-central provinces and the Hambantota district during the evening or night.

Winds speed can increase up to 40 kmph at times in the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces and the Hambantota district.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
