Police crackdown on illegal fuel stockpiling

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that Sri Lanka Police, Sri Lanka Special Task Force (STF), and the Police intelligence unit carried out raids across the island on Tuesday (12) to investigate the illegal stockpiling of fuel and kerosene.

SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that 67 people were arrested for stockpiling Koresene and Fuel.

The suspects were arrested with 5,690 Liters of patrol, 10,115 Liters of Diesel, and 5,620 Liters of Kerosene.

He said legal action will be instituted against the suspects and urged the general public to refrain from engaging in such acts.
