COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology announced that showers or thundershowers will occur at several places over most parts of the island except the Northern province and Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.

Fairly heavy showers above 75mm can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central, and Uva provinces, and Kurunegala district.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
