39 arrested for drug possession at Facebook party

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police said that 39 people were arrested for drug possession at a party that was organized via social media on Wennappuwa.

Police stated that the suspects were aged between 20-30 and are residents from Mattakkuliya, Ganemulla, Negombo, Anuradapura, Wattala, and Meerigama.

2g 110mg of Ice, 5g of Hashish, 27g of Cannabis, and 15 narcoting pills were found in the possession of the suspects.

The suspects were presented to the Marawila Magistrate's Court on Sunday (13) and were remanded until Wednesday (16).
