Government is destroying Prof. Senaka Bibile's legacy: Rajitha

COLOMBO (News 1st); Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Rajitha Senarathna alleges that the Government is attempting to destroy Prof. Senaka Bibile's legacy. 

Speaking to media, Dr. Senaratne pointed out as the Government removed the control prices for all goods in the market except for medicine, their next step is to remove the control price for medicine. 

Renowned pharmacologist Dr. Senaka Bibile was the founder of Sri Lanka's drug policy, which enabled not only for the country to purchase medicine at lower prices, but also for Sri Lanka to manufacture its own essential drugs.

Pointing out that although this policy was implemented by the UNP government, Senaratne stated that the current Government is attempting to destroy the policy in a 'cruel, capitalist move,'.
