COLOMBO (News 1st): A programme is being prepared to supply fuel to private buses from filling stations of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB), in the event of a fuel shortage in the country, the State Ministry of Transport Services said on Thursday (Feb. 24). Subject Minister Dilum Amunugama noted that this matter was taken up for discussion during a meeting with the Finance Minister At present, the SLTB and the Railways Department have stocks of fuel sufficient to last for two days, he told News 1st. According to State Minister Dilum Amunugama, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) is yet to supply the ordered stocks of fuel for the public transport sector. He expressed confidence that sufficient stocks of fuel would soon be supplied by the CPC as ordered.
