CPC to inspect filling station over stockpiling

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has deployed several inspection teams in search of filling stations that have stockpiled stocks without issuing to consumers. The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation will take a decision in the future regarding filling stations that conceal stocks and refuse to issue fuel to consumers, Attorney-at-Law Sumith Wijesinghe, the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation told News 1st on Wednesday (Feb. 23). "The daily supply of Diesel which is usually around 6000 metric tonnes, rose to 8000 to 9000 metric tonnes in the past few days," he said. This was the same trend with regard to Petrol, the CPC Chairman noted.
