Egg attack on JVP meeting was politically motivated - Vijitha Herath

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's JVP or People's Liberation Front said that the group that threw rotten eggs at a vehicle during a JVP meeting on Sunday (30), had attempted to portray that the attack came from the public.

"No harm was caused to Anura Kumara Dissanayake or his vehicle," said Vijitha Herath, the propaganda Secretary of the JVP.

He said that the two men who were detained by JVP activists and later handed over to the police, were connected to a Private Security Firm, and he also displayed images of the men wearing uniforms issued by Avant-Garde.
