COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police have intervened in the gas distribution process, despite both Litro and Laugfs gas introducing distribution programs.

Most distribution centers are flooded with people who have been in line since dawn.

"I am here since 2 AM. I am sitting on the gas cylinder that I used to cook milk rice for the new year," said one angry consumer while reprimanding the state for the present shortage.

In Ambalangoda, the gas distribution lorry was moved into the local police station, before commending the distribution process.

At the same time, one person had fainted while waiting for hours in line to purchase gas.

He was immediately taken away by ambulance for medical care.

The Ambalangoda Police said police officers were involved in the process based on a request made by the local distributor.
