Another gas shipment to reach SL; Laugfs assures adequate supply

COLOMBO (News 1st); Laugfs Gas says that another shipment carrying 10,000 tons of Gas is scheduled to reach Sri Lanka on Wednesday (05).

Chairman of Laugfs Gas, W. K. H. Wegapitiya stated that around 10,000 to 15,000 Gas Cylinders are being supplied daily to Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Galle, Matara, Kurunegala, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy and other areas.

He also assured that there is an adequate supply of Gas at the Gas Terminal and Filling Plant of the Hambantota Port.

Commenting on the shortage of domestic Gas Cylinders in the local market, Wegapitiya noted that there are difficulties in opening Letters of Credit from State Banks and Commercial Banks to import Gas.

He also noted that the process of filling Gas Cylinders is being delayed due to extensive standard inspections.
