COLOMBO (News 1st); The Government has not been able to curb the queues which are developing around the country, says Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Tissa Attanayake.

Expressing his views regarding the economic crisis at a media briefing held in Colombo on Sunday (02), the MP stated that the Government had given the people the opportunity to wait in line for essential items as the new year dawned.

Speaking at the media briefing, the MP said that the Government had caused this situation to take place, especially in the year 2022, when the people had high hopes that the country would be able to curb the economic crisis and commence a comfortable life.

However, the Government was unable to end the queue era in the new year, the MP said, adding that instead new queues have been created.

Pointing out that at present, the milk queue remains the same, the gas queue the same and the cement queue remains the same, the MP said that this is not the economy the people wanted.
