Govt hopes to overcome its shortcomings: State Minister Kanaka Herath

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Government hopes to build the rural economy within this year and to overcome the existing economic shortcomings, says State Minister Kanaka Herath.

Pointing out that the action will be taken in 2022 to overcome the existing economic weaknesses, the State Minister said that the Government hopes to address its shortcomings and successfully implement the Economic Building Program. 

Emphasizing that the Government will also begin this week to strengthen the rural economy through livelihood development programs, the State Minister said that the Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa has also allocated a large amount of funds for this at the Grama Niladhari Level.

" We hope to use those funds to build the rural economy within an year, " the State Minister added.
