Private Bus Operators to launch prepaid card system for commuters

COLOMBO (News 1st): The All Island Private Bus Operators Association has prepared plans to launch a new programme that would enable passengers to commute via buses by using a 'prepaid card'. The proposal will be submitted for the approval of the Central Bank Governor on Thursday (Dec. 30), Gemunu Wijeratne, the President of the Private Bus Operators Association noted. The Private Bus Operators Association hopes to launch the programme within a month.
