False propaganda discouraging public from obtaining vaccine: GMOA

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) alleges that false propaganda is making the public get discouraged to obtain the booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Speaking to media, the Secretary of the Government Medical Officers' Association, Dr. Chenal Fernando stated that the public have been intimidated by various parties in connection with the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

As a result, the GMOA states that there is a slight decrease in interest in the public obtaining the third dose, as there are sufficient stocks of vaccines, in addition to the Health Ministry officials, who ensure that the process is implemented properly.

The GMOA alleges that there are people who claim to be representatives of organizations in order to intimidate those who have been scientifically proven to be vaccinated.

In that case, the GMOA adds that there is a risk of exacerbation of the disease in the category of those who have not received either dose of the vaccine by March or February.
