COLOMBO (News 1st); The former member of the Pradeshiya Sabha who was arrested by the Hungama Police has died in the Police lock-up of cardiac arrest, says the Police.

The Police Media Spokesperson, SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that he had fallen into the cell while in Police custody and died on admission to the hospital.

The postmortem examination revealed that the former member of the Pradeshiya Sabha died of cardiac arrest.

The former PS member was arrested on charges of selling liquor on Poya day.
