COLOMBO (News 1st);  The Deputy Director of Health Services Dr Hemantha Herath says that the General public and the health sector are responsible to ensure that COVID-19 is controlled following the return to normalcy. Commenting on the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, the Deputy Director-General of Health Services, Dr.Hemantha Herath said that although there is a statistical increase, the important factor to consider is that the numbers are going down. Even though it is to early to decide on this, we cannot take the case increase lightly, the Deputy Director-general said. He also cautioned of the possibility of the situation worsening if health guidelines are not followed. Dr. Herath also mentioned that he has received photographs of doctors and other health workers posing for photographs without masks on and that it is regrettable as health workers are supposed to lead by example. He added that if the public does not adhere to health guidelines the entire country will have to face greater challenges in the future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJiX0LsP0_4
