Ugandan arrested with cocaine pills

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Narcotics Control Division officers of the Sri Lanka Customs today (15) prevented a woman from smuggling cocaine into the country. The suspect, identified as a 45-year-old Ugandan woman, arrived in the country on a Qatar Airways flight from Uganda via Doha at 09:00 a.m. today. The suspect was found with a consignment of cocaine hidden in her stomach by Sri Lanka Customs Narcotics Control Officers when she was attempting to exit the Airport. However, during the interrogation at the exit gate of the Katunayake International Airport, the passenger scan machine revealed that the cocaine was hidden in the woman's abdomen. At the time, she had claimed to have 100 pills containing cocaine in her abdomen, and so far 51 pills have been removed, the customs officials stated. The suspect is to be handed over to the Narcotics Bureau of the Sri Lanka Police after further investigations by the Customs Narcotics Division.
