COLOMBO (News 1st); A man in Embilipitiya had shot dead his wife following a domestic dispute on Sunday (26) night.

The woman was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital, but was ruled unresponsive upon admission, said Sri Lanka Police.

The deceased was a 35-year-old mother of two and her 45-year-old husband was arrested over the murder.

A locally manufactured gun commonly known as ‘Gal-katas’ was used to carry out the murder.

The suspect will be produced at the Embilipitiya Magistrate’s Court on Monday (27).
