COLOMBO (News 1st); Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa instructed relevant officials to set the standards of Indigenous and Ayurvedic Medicine by frequently publishing research results.

At Temple Trees, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa also stated that it is important to preserve the indigenous treatment methods handed down by our ancestors for the modern generations, and introduce them to the international community.

"However, people are often misled when searching for a real Ayurvedic practioner. Some deceive people and some play with the lives of the people with no understanding of Ayurvedic Medicine," said the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister made these observations during the opening ceremony of an Ayurvedic Hospital (Sirigala, Monaragala) virtually.

The Hospital has the capacity to treat 40 patients with non-communicable diseases, at a time.

External and inpatient care will be provided free of charge to the clergy of all religions.
