COLOMBO (News 1st); The ongoing pandemic brought may outbound activities to a grinding halt. But the ‘V-Force Youth Movement’ has proved that sitting still is not an option, having tripled its volunteer-base in a few months by pushing forward ‘online’.

Starting last year, V-Force began to invite Sri Lanka’s top leaders from various spheres to address young people on ‘zoom’ conferences.

The audience grew steadily, especially as each participant was offered a ‘Certificate’ if he or she fulfilled certain criteria.

The idea worked and soon, hundreds and at times, thousands of young Sri Lankans were hooked on to Zoom to listen to their heroes share their experience.

And unlike a ‘physical’ conference, they could ask questions and interact directly with the speaker.

By June 2021, V-Force had completed 50 sessions, concluding the Series I with an Online Graduation Ceremony that included Key Notes by globally recognised academics.

After a two-month break, ‘Leadership Series II’ is now back, announcing an exciting line-up of Sri Lankan speakers.

VForce has expanded the conversation to social media with pre and post discussions on specific topics being planned on the ‘Clubhouse’ Social Media platform as well.

The VForce Youth Movement was established in 2017 as the Youth-Wing of Gammadda, Sri Lanka’s largest Grassroots Development Initiative.
