COLOMBO (News 1st); MP Thalatha Athukorala has requested that SSP Shani Abeysekara, a former director of the CID not be subject to political harassment.

In a statement, Thalatha Athukorala stressed that the government should immediately stop the malicious manhunt against Abeysekera and all other political prisoners.

Thalatha Athukorala recalled that the imprisonment of SSP Shani Abeysekera was also discussed by the European Parliament last week.
