Controversial land in Sinharaja to be taken over by the state - Minister

Colombo (News 1st); Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said he called for a report regarding the deforestation taking place surrounding the Sinharaja Rainforest.

Speaking to News 1st, the Minister said the respective lands would be taken over by the state. The report is expected by the end next week, he said. The Environment Minister said the controversial land in question where construction was taking place and was exposed in recent days is expected to be taken over by the government.
