COLOMBO (News1st): A medical body has urged residents of areas in which the isolation status has been lifted to continue abiding by health guidelines amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Although the isolation status was lifted in housing complexes we don't know whether all residents are free from COVID-19," Dr Haritha Aluthge, the editor of the Government Medical Officers Association said.
He pointed out that state authorities would be compelled to take decisions disregarding socio-economic impacts if the situation grows out of hand.
Dr Aluthge noted that the isolation status is lifted in areas after a "comprehensive analysis" based on the detection of COVID-19 patients.
