COLOMBO(News 1st): The prevailing showery and windy conditions over the island, is expected to reduce temporary today, according to the Department of Meteorology.

However, showers or thundershowers are predicted at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western provinces.

Wind speed can increase up to 50 kmph at times across the island particularly in the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces and in Trincomalee, Hambanthota, Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, and Rathnapura districts.

Meanwhile, the Department of Fisheries has informed fishermen not to set sail until 12 noon today.

Meanwhile, the National Building Research Organization has issued landslide early warning for the districts of Colombo, Kalutara, Kegalle, Galle, and Ratnapura.

He warnings will be in effect until 6:30 pm today, Senior Scientist at the NBRO, Wasantha Senadheera stated.
