Colombo (News 1st); The carcass of a fishing cat was discovered in the Beddewela locality in Haputhale.

News 1st’s correspondent said wildlife officers arrived at the scene after they were informed about it.

Wildlife Officers suspect the fishing cat may have been knocked down by a speeding vehicle as the carcass was located close to a road.

An investigation is underway.
