Colombo (News 1st); Notorious gangster and organized criminal gang member Kanchipani Imran’s father was attacked by three men in Maligawatte on Wednesday evening.

Kanchipani Imran is current in remand custody.

Sri Lanka Police said the men armed with sharp weapons had attacked Kanchipani Imran’s father at the Jumma Masjid Junction in Maligawatte.

The victim was rushed to the National Hospital in Colombo and a spokesperson said multiple lacerations were visible on his body.

An on-duty Police Officer in the area had managed to arrest one of the attackers, Sri Lanka Police said.
