Murder suspect killed in police shootout

COLOMBO (News1st): A murder suspect has died in a shootout with the police in Monaragala on Friday, police said. The shootout had occurred when the police had attempted to arrest the suspect, who is accused of involvement in a murder on May 31. The victim of the shootout had been admitted to the Monaragala hospital after sustaining critical injuries. He had two ongoing court cases against him, according to the police.
