More than 500 people to return back home on Tuesday

COLOMBO (News1st): Around 500 people stranded in Colombo unable to travel to their home towns due to the curfew will be provided transportation on Tuesday via a special program organized by Sri Lanka Police. Police Spokesperson SP Jaliya Senaratne speaking on Monday said the program will be in operation from Nugegoda, where they will be prepped for the journey using health guidelines. He said the program comes directly under the purview of Western Province Governor Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Goonatileke and is coordinated by DIG Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon. The Police Spokesperson said the group was selected following medical examinations and includes pregnant women, women with small children, children and people taking medication for various health issues. They are sent to their respective home towns on the condition they undergo mandatory self quarantine as instructed by local Police and Health authorities.
