02 month old Fishing Cat saved from trafficker

Colombo (News 1st) ;  A rare 02 month old Fishing cat also known as the "Handun Diviya" was rescued from a trafficker by the Wildlife Conservation Department on Thursday. A 28 year old male was arrested for attempting to sell the wild cat for 150,000 rupees. Authorities said the suspect had attempted to sell the Fishing cat for 200,000 rupees a week ago, and as the sale did not go through, he was preparing the to sell the animal for 150,000 rupees on Monday. This little cat is now under the care of the Ampara veterinary unit.
