Do not make baseless allegations against the government: Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Rata Wenuwen Api social media activists meeting was held in Thalpitiya Panadura today (December 22). The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, several Ministers and MPs attended the event. Mahinda Rajapaksa, Prime Minister stated that when the previous government along with SLFP and former President Maithripala Sirisena left an empty treasury and added that they had not followed any standard protocol when carrying out projects. Prime Minister stated that the current government took every decision to benefit the public. Prime Minister added that the government has been falsely accused of the arrests carried out recently. Prime Minister went on to note that nobody knows on what charges were those arrests made and added that during the tenure of the previous government arrests were based purely on political reasons while they protected their own Ministers and MPs. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that the law is strict and those who make baseless allegations against the government will be dealt with.
