We will fight for Patali's freedom - Sajith Premadasa

Colombo (News 1st) - MP Sajith Premadasa speaking to the media following MP Patali Champika Ranawaka's arrest noted that this was a great injustice. Premadasa vowed to stand with the arrested MP and fight for his freedom. Dr. Harsha de Silva commenting on the arrest noted that due process had not been followed when arresting the MP.  He stated that the Police had entered the premises of the MP before informing the Speaker of parliament. MP Rajitha Senaratne speaking to the media noted that arrests of this nature did not happen during their time in Government. He noted that over the past 5 years the Police did not storm into residences in this manner and stated that they followed due process.  Senaratne went onto state that people like Champika Ranawaka are being persecuted for telling the truth to the nation.
