COLOMBO (News 1st):- The body of former Prime Minister D. M. Jayaratne will be brought into the parliamentary premises for final state respects.
General Secretary of the Parliament, Dhammika Dasanayake said that his body will remain in the ceremony hall in front of the parliament from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
All ministers and parliament members, state personnel, relatives and parliamentary staff have been notified to arrive at 12:30 pm to pay their final respects.
The former Prime Minister died at the age of 88 while he was receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kandy.
