90 dengue-related deaths reported in 2019

Colombo (NEws 1st): Ninety people had died due to dengue so far this year. National Dengue Control Unit Director Dr Aruna Jayasekara speaking to News 1st said there is a rapid increase in dengue patients being reported in the country compared to last year. In 2018, 58 people died of dengue and National Dengue Control Unit Director added special dengue prevention programs are in place across many districts to control the spread of the disease. So far this year 70,901 dengue patients were reported from across the island and 7736 of them were reported during this month alone.
