Colombo (News 1st): Gotabaya Rajapaksa's faction has sent a letter of demand to Attorney-at-Law Shiral Lakthilake alleging that a statement made by the attorney had damaged the image of Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Gotabaya Rajapaksa demands Rs. 1 billion in compensation. The contentious statement made by Shiral Lakthilake was regarding the dismissal of a case in the United States against Gotabaya Rajapaksa filed by Ahimsa Wickremathunga the daughter of Lasantha Wickremetunga. The letter of demand cites the statement made by Attorney-at-law Shiral Lakthilake at a press conference, dubbing the submission made by the counsel representing Gotabaya Rajapaksa to the court in California as a great betrayal of the nation. Attorney-at-law Anuradha Senerath Weragoda had sent the letter of demand on behalf of his client Gotabaya Rajapaksa stating that this statement has discredited his client.
