27,196 beneficiaries received houses between 2015-2019 in Kurunegala

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  A media briefing was convened yesterday(September 09) to inform of the progress of the housing projects in Kurunegala initiated by the National Housing Development Authority. N. K. P. S. Narasinghe, Kurunegala District Manager, National Housing Development Authority stated that the between 2015-2019 they have managed to provide houses for 27,196 beneficiaries Kurunegala alone at an expense of Rs 4415.865mn. He shared that they expect to ascertain individuals without shelter or any other property to include them in the model village program. He added that they have already vested 16 model villages with the people and they do not merely provide land or a house to live, as facilities such as running water, finished roads and electricity come with them. He added that they would declare open three more model villages on the 13th.
