PM to fix a date to hold discussions with Minister Sajith Premadasa

Colombo (News 1st): United National Party MPs and Ministers met with Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe today (September 06) for talks. The discussion which started around 10:00 am saw the participation of UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, UNP Chairman Kabir Hashim, Gamini Jayawickrama Perera, Daya Gamage, Malik Samarawickrama and Sarath Fonseka. The meeting went on for over 2 and a half hours. Interestingly, only Minister Gamini Jayawickrama Perera commented on the meeting with they held with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. He noted that the decision they reached is to fix a date to for Minister Sajith Premadasa to meet with the Prime Minister. The Minister noted that following their discussions they will come to a decision as who will become the president, the prime minister and the Chairman. Minister Perera said they have three personalities namely, Ranil Wickremasinghe, Sajith Premadasa, and Karu Jayasuriya. He added that with these three, they will have the strength to move forward. When questioned about the coalition, the minister said there is no division among Minister Sajith Premadasa, Speaker Jayasuriya, and Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe or among them with regard to that matter. Journalists questioned about the party's anniversary which falls today. Responding to this he noted that they have decided to have a grand celebration when they reach united decisions. After the meeting, Minister Gayanatha Karunathilake was seen entering Temple Trees and leaving moments later.
