SLFP new appointments made in the absence of 12 ministers : Dayasiri Jayasekara

Colombo (News 1st) - S.B.Dissanayake who was relieved from the post of SLFP Treasurer made the following comments today (27 August). He referred to the new appointments made in SLFP, the treasurer and the two new Vice-Chairmen who were appointed to replace Dilan Perera and Sarath Amunugama. He congratulated them while wishing success on the alliance discussions between the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party. Former Governor Reginald Cooray was present for this briefing as well. SLFP Central Working Committee Member, Reginald Cooray highlighted that "the driver of the bus known as the Sri Lanka Freedom Party is driving towards KKS. However, the conductor is issuing tickets for Dondra Head. Therefore whenever the bus stops a couple of people leave", referring to the situation today. General Secretary of the SLFP, Dayasiri Jayasekera stated the President made the new appointments when the 12 people are those who were just at home. Therefore,  he emphasized on the need to call everyone individually in order to reach a decision. "They must decide if they would work with the party or not", he added.
